JV girls play in Silver Bracket at Rally Cup Tournament
Tallulah Falls JV notches two wins in Rally Cup tournament play
The JV Lady Indians played in the Rally Cup Tournament at LakePoint Sports Complex in Cartersville on Saturday, going 2-3 overall on the day. Tallulah Falls won a match in the pool play bracket, and advanced to the Silver Bracket, winning a match there as well. TFS is 5-3 overall on the season.
Pool Play Bracket
vs Gordon Lee: L 1-2
TFS let its first match slip just out of reach, losing the final set 13-15 after winning the opening set, 25-13. Gordon Lee took the middle set, as TFS fell 24-26 despite holding a lead late. AnnaLee Wall had eight kills and three aces, Finlee Ridlehoover added five aces, Keely Franks had three aces, Camryn Perry had three aces and a beautiful kill from the back row, and Azul Felder Terrados found a rhythm in hitting and finished with three kills. Abigail Cruz had two kills and Madi Williams added one.
vs Notre Dame Chattanooga: W 2-0
The second match went to TFS in straight sets, 25-12, 25-19. Ridlehoover racked up six aces from serve, and added a kill. Wall had seven kills and an ace, and Franks dropped in three aces. Perry had two kills and an ace, Williams chipped in with three kills, and Becca Roberts and Felder Terrados had a kill apiece.
vs Glenwood: L 1-2
The girls had another tight match, dropping the final set to get pushed to the Silver Bracket. The girls drove a tall and talented Glenwood team to the brink. TFS took the opening set, 25-19, dropped the middle 15-25, and the finale by a close 13-15 score. Franks had some solid serving, as did Ridlehoover and Roberst. Felder Terrados had a run of six at serve.
Silver Bracket
vs South Paulding: W 2-0
Against South Paulding in the Silver Bracket, TFS rolled to a quick 2-0 win to advance. The Lady Indians posted a 25-22 first set win, and closed it out with a thrilling 27-25 clincher. Wall and Perry both had three aces and three kills, while Ridlehoover had two aces and two kills.
vs Columbus: L 0-2
Wall had 10 kills and an ace, but fatigue set in as TFS dropped in straight sets to Columbus. Roberts had three aces and two kills while Perry and Ridlehoover both had three aces and a kill. Ridlehoover was the star of the day according to coach Matt Crotta, playing every minute of every match.
"Her consistently-placed sets gave our girls ample opportunities to attack in each match," adds Crotta.
