Tallulah Falls Preview
The Lady Indians (24-8) are ranked #4 in the state, holding a top-four ranking for the last few weeks. TFS has won its past three matches, including a win over Loganville Christian on September 23 to secure the program's third region title. The season has included a 10-match win streak from late-August to mid-September.
Tallulah Falls has won nine matches against top-10 ranked opponents this year, which is a new program record. Senior Rebecca Heyl leads the team with 227 kills, and is second in digs (212) and fourth in aces. Junior Sofia Livianos has 225 kills and a team-high 246 digs, and is third in aces with 55. Senior setter Margalida Amengual Sanchez has 740 assists on the season and is tops in aces with 83. Those three, along with sophomore Corinne Swinton (186 kills, 64 aces, 28.5 blocks) each earned All-Region honors.
Coach Matt Heyl was named Coach of the Year for the region, and eclipsed 200 career wins earlier this season. This marks the 11th consecutive state playoff run for the Lady Indians, which is a record for any sport at TFS. The volleyball team has made the Sweet 16 or further six seasons in a row and seven overall.
Loganville Christian is a region foe that makes up part of this bracket. In the two meetings this season, Tallulah Falls took a 3-2 win at home on September 4, and won 3-0 on the road September 23.
