Lady Indians sweep through LCA to win third region championship
The Lady Indians earned their third region championship in program history with a 3-0 win over #6-ranked Loganville Christian on Tuesday. Tallulah Falls, who entered as the #4-ranked team in the state, secured the home court with a dominant outing.
TFS won 25-19, 25-22, 25-11. Lily Smith had eight kills, four aces, and two blocks in a great performance. Sofia Livianos had multiple big serving runs, allowing Tallulah to cushion the lead. She had 10 aces and six kills.
Rebecca Heyl provided encouragement and communication between every point, and had five kills with two aces. Shelby Whisnant had some key kills along the way, and Laura Ruiz Rendon as usual supplied solid defense. Margalida Amengual Sanchez set up the hitters with precision passes, and Corinne Swinton covered a lot of ground, receiving serves well and getting some strong blocks.
The Lady Indians last won the title in 2023, and also in 2022, and are now 23-8 on the season with just one regular season match remaining on Thursday.
