MS track and field finishes Runner-Up at Tri-State Championships
TFS takes top spot in six events to highlight final action

The MS track and field teams wrapped up the 2026 season at the Tri-State Championships on Monday at Rabun Gap. Both the boys and girls finished Runner-Up.
For the Lady Indians, the following won the Tri-State or came in Runner-Up:
- Fern Johnson - 1st in Triple Jump
- 4x800 Relay - 1st
- Naomi Russo - 2nd in 1600; 2nd in 800
- Emily Papandreas - 2nd in High Jump
- 4x100 Relay - 2nd
- 4x400 Relay - 2nd
The Indians had the following athletes place first or second:
- Zachary Bonner - 1st in Long Jump; 1st in 100 MH; 2nd in 300 MH
- Isaac Helgeland - 1st in Shot Put
- 4x800 Relay - 1st
- Lincoln Penland - 2nd in 1600; 2nd in 800
- Markos Tyson - 2nd in 100; 2nd in 200
- Luke Russo - 2nd in High Jump
- 4x200 Relay - 2nd
- 4x100 Relay - 2nd
- 4x400 Relay - 2nd
