Daniel-Joseph, Carnes/Stafford finish tournament as State Runner-Up
TFS well-represented in GIAA Singles/Doubles Championships
Entering the second day of the GIAA Singles/Doubles State Championships, Tallulah Falls was represented by Jaeda-Lee Daniel-Joseph and the doubles combo of Ava Carnes and Charlotte Stafford.
On Tuesday morning, Daniel-Joseph defeated the bracket's top overall seed to advance to the State Championship match. Her win also marked the 22nd of the season, creating a new school single-season record (passing her 21 wins from a year ago).
In the title match, Daniel-Joseph lost the opening set 3-6, 3-6 in a tough duel.
Meanwhile, Carnes and Stafford won in a tiebreaker (12-10) to reach the championship match as well. On Monday, the duo also set a school record with their 18th win together, a new single-season high mark. Their semifinals win pushed it to 19 wins on the season.
Carnes and Stafford dropped the championship match 4-6, 1-6 to finish as State Runner-Up.
