Martinez Herreros notches game-winning goal as TFS wins season opener
Tallulah Falls rallies back for a comeback win
The Lady Indians got a well-timed goal late from Leyre Martinez Herreros in the second half, as TFS (1-0) won 3-2 at home Tuesday over Walhalla (SC).
LB Kafsky had notched a goal off an assist from Jocelyn Hall. The visitors went on to score two in a row to take a 2-1 lead.
Before the break, Kafsky in the final seconds retaliated with her second goal, this time off the helper from Martinez Herreros.
Hall had the assist on the game-winning goal as well. Cassidy Coles had a solid first outing at goalkeeper.
"The girls had a slow start to the game, due to time constraints, we cut out all warmups and starting lineups," says coach Erin Jimenez.
"There were a lot of changes for the girls tonight as we normally play earlier and I'm proud of how they adjusted to those changes. We are working on finding space and trusting our teammates and it truly showed tonight on the field.
