Lady Indians put up program record 20 runs in tough loss to Gainesville
A record performance by the offense was just short in a barn-burner to open the season
The Lady Indians set a new program record in a 21-20 loss at Gainesville to open the 2025 season. For TFS, the 20 runs scored bested the previous high of 15 set twice last season, the inaugural campaign. The game was scoreless through two frames before the bats exploded on both sides.
The Red Elephants stomped out to an 11-1 lead after the third, but an incredible comeback was in store for the Lady Indians, who pushed across 11 runs in the fourth to take a slim 12-11 lead. The fifth and sixth featured several lead changes, and Tallulah Falls held another lead going into the final stanza.
Bailey Crumley, Juliana Roberts, and Kaylin Pickett were among the standouts offensively with a handful of RBI singles between them. Several batters walked, stole bases, and used small ball to garner runs.
"Overall great team effort," says coach Jenny Long. "Ruby Sue Anderson had her first strikeout, and Zoe Shephard recorded two strikeouts. We were agressive on the bases."
Tallulah Falls starts out 0-1, and will match up again with Gainesville in its home-opener on August 12.
