Rifle team finishes third at Southeast Regional Championship
McGahee, Stout lead TFS in Alabama match
Mitchell McGahee's stellar senior season continues, as the Tallulah Falls sharpshooter ties his school record at the most recent match in Anniston, AL.
The rifle team place third overall in the 3 Position Southeast Regional Championship in the high school division. McGahee placed 6th individually in the open category with a 594 day two score. That earned him a trip to the finals.
Meredith Maxwell was 53rd among 145 athletes. Desi Newkirk was 7th in the U17 class, while Georgia Phillips was 6th in the U15 group.
Faith Stout was 2nd and won a silver medal.
"I'm so proud of this team and their continued improvement," says coach Tim Stamey. "This team trip was a bonding experience as the support for each other continues to grow. Our next big match is the National Championship in July at Camp Perry, OH."
