MS track and field teams place 4th at Athens Academy
TFS teams compete at Athens Academy in Thursday meet
The MS track and field teams competed at Athens Academy on Thursday, with both teams placing fourth in the meet.
Fern Johnson had a 1st-place finish in the Triple Jump. Emily Papandreas was 4th in the High Jump and 7th in the Long Jump.
Marylane Dickey was 5th in the 800 and in the 1600, while Sophie Christensen was 5th in both the Shot Put and Discus. Adaline Erdahl placed 6th in the 1600 and 7th in the 400. Tigerlily Singletary came in 8th in the Long Jump and 9th in the 200.
Others with top-10 finishes were Amy Edelheit (8th in Shot Put), Ellery Flanders (7th in Discus, 10th in Shot Put), and Addalyn Shoaf (8th in Discus). The girls' 4x400 Relay was 2nd, the 4x100 relay 'A' team was 4th and 'B' team 6th.
The Indians also had several top-10 placers. Luke Russo was the 1st-place finisher in the High Jump and 4th in 100 MH. Luke Sorrows came in 2nd in the Triple Jump and 4th in the 400. Bonham Van Doornum also had a couple of top-10 finishes in the 100 MH (5th) and 800 (6th), as did Nolan Smith (9th in Long Jump, 10th in 100).
Other boys with top-10s include Pace Freeman (5th in 400), Wrenn Christensen (5th in High Jump), and Oliver McFaddin (10th in Long Jump).
The 4x400 boys relay was 2nd and the 4x100 group was 4th.
