Perfection! MS Indians secure 3-peat as Southern Mountain League Champions
Indians polish off perfect season with third straight title
A perfect season was in the cards for the Tallulah Falls MS Indians, who blanked both Banks County and Rabun County at home on Wednesday to secure a third straight Southern Mountain League Championship.
TFS (11-0) won quickly 3-0 over Banks in the semifinals round, and a couple of hours later secured the title with a 3-0 win over Rabun County.
The Indians also won the SML title in 2024, 2023, 2020, and 2019.
"I can't say enough about these boys and how they performed this season," says coach Anthony Cox. "Six out of seven from last year's championship lineup were 8th-graders. We had a lot to replace, but these guys came in hungry and never left any doubt this season about who would finish on tip. The guys pushed each other and have worked so hard to maintain a standard that is something we can be proud of, and it's clear they recognize what it means to be a part of the TFS tennis program. What's more, we play with high character, and it shows."
