TFS endures physical contest and emerges victorious in 2-1 final
The Indians battled from start to finish, with a 2-1 win to show for it Tuesday against George Walton.
TFS (5-1) is now 2-0 in region play, and winners of five straight contests.
The initial goal was an own goal after miscommunication with the keeper, as Tallulah won the possession battle early on.
"We started the second half well, but let them back in the game with a foul that they scored off a resulting free kick," says coach Jeremy Stille. "After they tied the game, the match became much tighter and more physical, but we pressed and wree dominant at winning first balls and that gave us opportunities to push ahead."
Simon Gainzarain Hernando scored on a well-placed shot just inside the 18 with about two minutes left in regulation.
"The boys played really hard and matched the physicality of George Walton," adds Stille. "It is a good road win for us, but now we are focused on getting our fans out for our first home game of the season on Friday against Riverside."
