JV staples down 1-point win over Bethlehem Christian
TFS wins 41-40 final at home
The JV Indians won a thriller, 41-40 against visiting Bethlehem Christian on Saturday evening.
TFS was up 13-10 after one, but the Knights came back to tie the game at 22 going into the break.
The visitors then surged ahead in the third, going ahead 35-29.
"After making adjustments on defense, the Indians held BC to just five points in the fourth, while the offense scored 12 to put TFS in favor by one," says coach Matt Crotta.
Joan Hernandez had a season-high 14 points, while Fenn NeSmith added 10, including a pair of free throws to seal the win in the final five seconds. Nedko Perchemliev added seven, and Emmanuel Heyl and Ethan Phasavang each recorded five. TFS is 6-3 overall and 5-0 in region play.
"The never give up attitude and determination of the Indians helped the team overcome a 9-point deficit in the fourth that brought us the win," adds Crotta.
