JV picks up win in home and season opener
Tallulah Falls Indians beat Towns County behind Ethan Phasavang's 19 points
The JV Indians collected a 52-36 win to open the season at home Wednesday against Towns County.
A large halftime lead held up, as Ethan Phasavang and Fenn NeSmith had several second-half buckets to keep TFS (1-0) out in front.
NeSmith had several 3-point play opportunities with a lay-in plus the foul, and Phasavang had multiple steals that led to fast break layups on the other end. He had five steals and a team-high 19 points.
"Our defense and rebounding efforts gave us the edge tonight," says coach Matt Crotta.
Behind Phasavang's 19, Emmanuel Heyl had 11 points, NeSmith and Nedko Perchemliev nine apiece, and two by both Josh Newell and Lennon Magadia.
