TFS names newest Indians of the Month
The following athletes were chosen by their coaches as Indians of the Month for April 2026.
VARSITY BASEBALL
DREW BARRON - JR 2B/P #10
Drew has been a leader for us in April, and has impacted the game offensively, defensively, and on the mound. In 13 games last month, Drew hit .308 with three RBI and 14 runs scored, and went 3-1 with a 2.33 ERA and 17 strikeouts. -coach Justin Pollock

LB KAFSKY - JR M #12
LB is a force to be reckoned with on the field, she is consistently the player who the other team is worried about and she has really stacked up the stats this past month. She is not only a talented player but also a kind and uplifting young woman. -coach Erin Jimenez
VARSITY BOYS SOCCER
TYSON HALL - JR CDM #8
Tyson is one of the captains on the team and has been working to improve himself everyday. He is a leader on the team and knows the responsibility that it comes with. His dedication and efforts this season have been crucial for the team's continued success. We are very proud of his efforts and commitment to the program. -coach Jeremy Stille
VARSITY GIRLS TENNIS
AVA CARNES & CHARLOTTE STAFFORD - SR #1 Doubles
Senior first doubles combo Ava Carnes and Charlotte Stafford had an incredible month of tennis. They finished up 8-1 (nearly 9-1 almost finishing in the quarterfinals of the team state tournament), with the lone loss coming in the doubles state championship match. The pair started the month defeating a tough Athens Academy team, rolled through the region tournament to take the region crown, and were impressive in the doubles state tournament finishing as runners-up. Then, to close out the amazing month, they won the clinching match to catapult the team to the state finals, avenging a loss versus the team that defeated them in the doubles state finals. Ava and Charlotte have dialed up their focus and competitive drive here in the most important moments of their senior season. They have demonstrated what senior leaders should be all about, showing resolve and purpose, and enjoying the process. -coach Anthony Cox
VARSITY BOYS TENNIS
MIGUEL SMITH - JR #1 SINGLES
Miguel Smith has been our best tennis player all season. The month of April he competed well, going 5-3 and finishing as runner-up in the region tournament. In the team state tournament quarterfinals, he won the first set in his match and was in a third set tiebreak when the match was called. The opponent was a state singles finalist. Miguel is a respectful and talented young man who is liked by all. He grew significantly as a player and person throughout the season, playing his best tennis at the end. We are grateful to have him as part of the TFS community and our tennis program. -coach Anthony Cox

TFS low-score at The GIAA AAA State Championship with an 81. Rylee has been so consistent all season for us. -coach CJ Stockel
VARSITY GIRLS TRACK & FIELD
MARY KATE BALL - FR
Mary Kate capped a strong April with major contributions to the Lady Indians 2nd pace finish at the GIAA Region Championships. MK earned runner-up honors in the 800m and the 4x800m Relay, and 3rd place finishes in the 400m and the 4x400m Relay, qualifying for the GIAA State Championships in each event. -coach Jamie Jimison
VARSITY BOYS TRACK & FIELD
TEAGAN PENLAND - JR
Teagan came up big for the Indians at the GIAA Region Championships with fantastic performances across 5 events, qualifying for the GIAA State Championships in each. He set lifetime bests in the 800m (3rd place) and the 1600m (2nd), and took 2nd in the 3200m. He also played key roles in the runner-up 4x400m and Champion 4x800m relays. -coach Jamie Jimison

DJ Broome & Shepard Crumley - JR
DJ Broome and Shepard Crumley made TFS history with a State Runner-Up finish at the GIAA tournament, and became National Championship qualifiers. -coach Daryl Broome
JV BOYS SOCCER
JACKSON CRUMLEY - SO F #5
Jackson has shown some of the highest resilience I've seen on the field. He's grown past all of my expectations, and has been one of the most reliable players I've had. Keeping a cool head and always giving it his all. -coach David Jimenez

BETSEY ORR - FR F #8
Betsey had a great attitude and showed great improvement throughtout the season. -coach Hannah Thompson
JV BASEBALL
SID SHARMA - JR DH/1B #16
Sid has worked hard and has become one of our most consistent hitters on the JV team. He finished the JV season with a .400 batting average and 3 hit by pitches. I am proud of how he has grown as a player and a person this season. -coach Justin Pollock

FAITH STOUT - FR
At the Southeast Regional 3 Position Championship, Faith placed 2nd in the U15 class and was awarded a silver medal! She continues to be very solid competitor for her team and school. -coach Tim Stamey
MS BASEBALL
BRODY DAMPIER - 8TH P/SS #4
Brody batted .636 in the leadoff position, leading the team in doubles and triples. While facing 58 batters on the mound, he struck out 32 and had a fielding percent of .861. Brody is a great leader on and off the field. We are looking forward to watching Brody in his high school years. -coach Jo Kimbrel

CHARLOTTE HATCHER - 7TH D #36
Charlotte Hatcher is the Most Improved Player for the MS Lady Indians soccer team. In her first year playing soccer, she already looks like she grew up with the game. Her positivity and aggressiveness on the pitch are truly contagious and felt by everyone on the team. She always has a smile on her face, regardless of the situation. A strong and consistent competitor, Charlotte continues to grow with every practice and game. -coach Vinny Correa

STELLA HATCHER - 5TH
Stella, a 5th grader, has emerged as a leading golfer for our middle school program this season. Despite being one of the youngest members of the team, she has consistently performed as our top scorer, demonstrating both talent and composure well beyond her years. Stella showcases strong fundamentals in her game, but what truly sets her apart is her attitude. She approaches every practice and match with positivity and a genuine love for the sport. Her constant smile and uplifting presence make a meaningful impact on those around her. In addition to her performance, Stella is an outstanding teammate. She is encouraging, coachable, and always willing to support others. Her sportsmanship shines through in every interaction, as she treats teammates and opponents alike with respect and kindness. Stella is a bright light within our program. Her positive energy, strong character, and dedication to the game make her incredibly deserving of recognition as Indian of the Month. -coach Hannah Satterfield

WEST RIDLEHOOVER - 8TH
West Ridlehoover has been an essential contributor to our squad throughout the season and is highly deserving of this recognition. His performance in the end-of-season championship, where he posted an impressive 48, showcased both his skill and composure under pressure. West has demonstrated consistent reliability, with his scores frequently counting toward the team total. Notably, he carded a 44 in our match at Rabun County Golf Club, further highlighting his ability to perform at a high level. Over the course of the season, he has earned three runner-up counting scores and achieved two low-medalist honors—an accomplishment that speaks to both his talent and competitive drive. Beyond his individual performance, West stands out as a leader. He brings a genuine love for the game, a strong work ethic, and a team-first mentality. He is competitive, coachable, and always focused on what is best for the team. His skill, attitude, and potential make him a valuable asset to our program and a deserving candidate for Indian of the Month. -coach Hannah Satterfield

NAOMI RUSSO - 9TH
Naomi consistently rises to the occasion when it matters the most. She was the Lady Indians' top performer at the Tri-State Championships with runner up finishes in the 1600m, 800m, 4x400m, and a win in the 4x800m. Additionally, she stepped up to the Varsity level at the GIAA Region meet and made major contributions. She helped the team battle to a 2nd place honor with 2nd place finishes in the 1600m and 4x800, and a 3rd place finish in the 3200m, qualifying to the GIAA State Championships in each event. -coach Jamie Jimison

ZACHARY BONNER - 8TH
Zachary capped his Middle School Track & Field career in sterling fashion at the Tri-State Championships. He shouldered the Indians scoring load with event wins and personal best marks in the 100m Hurdles and the Long Jump. He also contributed runner-up finishes in the 300m Hurdles and the 4x200m Relay. -coach Jamie Jimison
