TFS names its newest Indians of the Month
The following athletes were chosen by their coaches as Indians of the Month for January 2026.
VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL
Todor Stanimirovic - JR PF #12
In January, averaged 8 PPG and 4 RPG in important region games. -coach Cody Coleman
VARSITY GIRLS BASKETBALL
LB Kafsky - JR G #14
LB has been a consistent presence in scoring and rebounding! Forcing teams to struggle on offense and defense. For the month of January, she is averaging 7.3 boards and 7.8 PPG. She uses her height and lengthiness on the press forcing defections and turnovers. -coach Jo Kimbrel
VARSITY BOYS SWIMMING
Martin Raybon - SR
Martin has been making waves in the 200 Free event, and we are looking for him to blast off at state coming up. -coach Chris Kafsky
VARSITY GIRLS SWIMMING
Molly Rickman - SR
Molly Rickman has worked through an injury and has stayed dedicated to the team. She's been working hard to stay ready with the state meet coming up. -coach Chris Kafsky
PRECISION RIFLE
Meredith Maxwell - SO
It does not come easy for her, but Meredith continues to work extremely hard to master rifle. She is improving weekly and finally realizing the payoff of her preserverance. Her dedication and commitment to the team are commendable as is her glue that holds the team together. -coach Tim Stamey
VARSITY CHEERLEADING
Penny Damron - SR
As a senior, Penny has been a strong flyer and a kind, supportive teammate. She leads with confidence and encouragement, setting a great example for everyone on the team. -coach Allie Correa
JV BOYS BASKETBALL
Fenn NeSmith - FR F #12
Fenn has been an offensive beast for our team this season. He leads the team with an average of 12 points per game and in rebounding an unofficial average of 15 per game. He scored a season high and team high of 25 points on January 20 against Athens Christian School leading us to a 47-24 victory. He is a quiet and humble leader for the JV Indians basketball team. -coach Matt Cortta
JV CHEERLEADING
Saoia Alfegeme - SO
Saoia consistently shows up ready to work hard and enjoy every practice. She brings energy to games and cheers on her teammates with enthusiasm. We are thankful to have her on the team! -coach Allie Correa
MS BOYS BASKETBALL
Branson Duncan - 8TH F #20
Branson Duncan is our Indian of the Month for Middle School Boys Basketball. Branson is a hard worker who does all the dirty work in the paint and has shown tremendous improvement throughout the season. He is our top rebounder, one of our leading scorers, and has scored 10 or more points in three consecutive games while consistently encouraging his teammates. Branson is a great young man with a bright future, and we look forward to all the great things he will accomplish moving forward. -coach Brian Long
MS GIRLS BASKETBALL
Jordan Harris - 6TH F #11
This month's Indian of the Month recognizes a basketball player who consistently puts in the work and brings a positive, team-first attitude each day. She is extremely coachable and has demonstrated tremendous growth and improvement throughout the season. MS BOYS SWIMMING
Lincoln Penland - 8TH
Lincoln is an integral part of the middle school boys swim team. He is a strong leader, who has a positive attitude, and displays great sportsmanship. Lincoln leads by example and is a strong motivator for his teammates. Lincoln has qualified in all the events for the GIAA State Swim Meet. He hopes to add a back to back Team State Championship trophy. -coach Jinny Hanifan-Wagner
MS GIRLS SWIMMING
Naomi Russo - 8TH
Naomi has been a consistently strong swimmer all season. She has qualified for the GIAA state swim meet in all events. Naomi works hard every practice and never has a complaint. She sets a great example for her teammates. Naomi has been able to swim up in a few of our Varsity swim meets. Naomi is an integral member of our TFS swim program. -coach Jinny Hanifan-Wagner
MS CHEERLEADING
Cadence Beecher - 8TH
Cadence Beecher is always eager to help with the other cheerleaders and the coaches. She is developing into a true leader as no task is too small that she doesn't mind helping out with. She also leads by example for other teammates to follow. We couldn't be more proud of her progress and look forward to seeing her continue to grow. -coach Natasha McEntire
